Hangul is the name of the Korean alphabet invented in 1446 by several scholars at the order of the king Sejong of Yi dynasty. Hangul consists of 24 basic letters- 14 basic consonants and 10 vowels. There are 3 major vowels, and these were made from the most important elements of nature, heaven, earth, and man. These were symbolized by a dot, a horizontal line and a vertical line, and making them the figures of the basic vowels.
